Rooted in Jining—the birthplace of Confucian culture—Scien Green has long embraced the core values of traditional Chinese culture (altruism, gratitude, filial piety, diligence, and self-reflection) as its corporate spirit, seamlessly integrating cultural heritage with corporate social responsibility. Since 2018, the company has remained dedicated to public welfare education in traditional culture for youth, successfully hosting three sessions of the "Virtuous Youth" camp, two sessions of the "Youth of Good Character" camp, and one session of the "Youth of Rites and Music" camp, with over 200 children participating. In 2026, Scien Green partnered with the International Study Camp for Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture to host the "Confucian Youth" public welfare summer camp. Centered on the core Confucian virtues of Benevolence, Righteousness, Propriety, Wisdom, and Trustworthiness, the camp transcended the boundaries of the traditional classroom. It guided children to observe firsthand, engage in hands-on activities, and internalize lessons with their hearts, transforming culture from mere words on a page into a tangible, deeply felt experience of personal growth.
During the "Holy Land Study Tour" segment, children visited the Confucius Mansion and Temple to appreciate the spirit of "benevolence and love for others"; explored the Mencius Mansion and Temple to understand the commitment to "upholding righteousness even at the cost of one's life"; stepped into the Duke of Zhou Temple to trace the origins of rites and music; paused at the Yan Hui Temple to grasp the value of diligent study and thoughtful reflection; deciphered historical mysteries through artifacts at the Confucius Museum; and recited the famous line "Time flows away like this" at the Nishan Sacred Land, immersing themselves in the profound heritage of the Confucian holy land. Every brick and tile in this hometown of Confucius and Mencius served as a lesson in the children's growth.
In the sessions dedicated to classic recitation and the experience of rites and music, participants chanted the *Analects*, savoring teachings such as "restraining oneself and returning to propriety" and "cultivating oneself to bring peace to others," while gaining insight into the "Way of the Gentleman" rooted in filial piety and fraternal love. During the master-apprentice ceremony, the youths adjusted their attire and performed ancient rituals, personally experiencing the importance of respecting teachers and the Way. Through the *Golden Sound and Jade Vibration* light and shadow show and the program *China in the Classics*, they rediscovered the charm of the classics using modern audiovisual techniques. In the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) segment, participants try their hand at seal carving—literally etching the virtue of integrity into stone; experience the art of dough sculpting, feeling the craftsmanship at their fingertips; recreate the ancient "binding of bamboo slips" (a reference to the diligent study of classics); and engage in activities like traditional archery and *touhu* (pitch-pot), bringing classical lore to life in an entertaining way.
Beyond academic learning, the summer camp places great emphasis on shaping the inner character of the youth. The curriculum includes themed sessions on gratitude and filial piety, guiding children to appreciate the protection of their country, the nurturing care of their parents, and the guidance of their teachers, while encouraging them to reflect on family responsibilities and the purpose of learning. Through communal living—featuring standardized dormitory management and mutual support among campers—participants develop independence and self-care skills while learning the value of communication and collaboration through their daily interactions.
A nation is strong when its youth are strong; young people bear the vital responsibility of carrying forward traditional culture.
